2026/27 guide

Bristol student nights:the 2026/27 guide

A practical guide to going out as a student in Bristol: where the nightlife is, what a typical week looks like, and why Monday belongs to OMP.

Where Bristol’s nightlife is

Bristol is home to two universities, the University of Bristol and UWE Bristol, and its student nightlife is spread across a few distinct areas rather than one strip. Clifton Triangle, near the University of Bristol campus, is one of the main ones, home to a run of bars and clubs including The Brass Pig. The city also has well-known nightlife pockets around the Harbourside, Stokes Croft, and the city centre.

OMP Mondays runs at The Brass Pig, 1 Clifton Heights, 45 Triangle West, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1EJ, right on Clifton Triangle, so it’s an easy walk from most Clifton and Redland student accommodation, and a short trip from the rest of the city.

A typical student week out

Most Bristol bars and clubs run a weekly student promotion on a fixed night, so which night you go out on tends to depend on which crowd, music, and offer you're after. Pricing and format varies venue to venue and we’d rather not guess at details we haven’t verified ourselves, but here’s what we can tell you about the night we run.

Every Monday

Monday is OMP

OMP Mondays (Oh My Pound) is Bristol’s £1 student night at The Brass Pig, Clifton Triangle. £1 Spirit + Mixer, £1 VK, £1 Bombs, doors 8pm, every Monday.

Music

Bristol’s student nightlife leans heavily on UK garage, house, dance, R&B and drum & bass, reflecting the city’s wider music scene. At OMP Mondays specifically, expect UKG, House, Dance, R&B, DNB.

Getting around

Clifton Triangle is close to student accommodation in Clifton and Redland, and well connected to the rest of Bristol by bus and taxi. If you’re travelling from further out, plan your route home before you go out, night transport options are more limited than during the day.

A few basics

  • Bring ID. Most venues, OMP included, will ask for it.
  • Book tickets in advance where you can, it’s usually cheaper and guarantees entry.
  • Sort your way home before you go out, not after.
  • Look out for your friends, and let people know your plans.
  • Pace yourself, especially on a £1 drinks night.
